Three new tourist residences with pool,
Kalives, Apokoronas
Architect: Angeliki Terezaki
Structural Engineer: Nikos Tsatsaris
Design: August 2019
The design involves the construction of three new ground level tourist residences with a pool with a combined area of 207.26 sq.m and a pool area of 46.20 sq. m.
Each of the ground level residences includes a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The open plan area vestibule-living room-dining room-kitchen extends to the outdoor covered area via sliding glass doors. The purpose of the design is to integrate the placement of the residences and the pool with the natural environment. The development of the residences within the plot ensures the minimum impact to the existing ground surface while maintaining the minimum required distances to the property line and the axis of the municipal street. The architectural design concentrates on the respect and preservation (where possible) of the olive trees within the property. The development of the building volumes occurs between the olive trees which are integrated in the organization of the floor plan. A centralized paved corridor which starts at the entrance to the property, connects the three residences, the parking area and the pool.
As far as the building morphology is concerned, the objective is that the buildings represent contemporary architecture adapted to the forms, proportions and materials characteristic of the greater area. The design is based on the purity of a simple geometric form utilizing strict lines while creating a open floor plan that extends to the outside environment. The construction of the external walls of the residences will be with insulated concrete forms (ICF) of 6cm and a 20cm concrete core. The reinforcement will be steel reinforcement. In addition, a common-use swimming pool will be constructed of reinforced concrete with an area of 46.20sq.m. The pool area will include a metal pergola-shade structure.
